AETHER
2025, ceramic, glass, resin, soil
Eter is a collection of four sculptures where form, material, and void become a means of expression. Each sculpture corresponds to a different colour from Sanzo Wada’s 241 Colour Combinations and one of the four elements of the Godai concept. The work explores void - the fifth element - as a space of potential, revealing how matter, form, and colour shape our perception of reality.
Eter speaks of impermanence, cycles, and change, where form and touch become points of orientation in experience, and white becomes a field for new meaning.
Fire is a ceramic sculpture representing the colour Red Orange. Its rough texture and sharp form evoke flames in the moment of transformation - a material shaped by fire, retaining its energy.
Water, made of glass, is linked to the colour Dark Medici Blue. Its smooth, cool form suggests oceanic depth - a trace of sand transformed into substance.
Air, captured in flexible resin in the colour Pale Lemon Yellow, reflects the rhythm of breath. Its soft shape and fluid surface convey motion, evoking air as a carrier of life.
Earth is a dorodango formed from diatomaceous soil, symbolising the Isabella colour. Its surface reflects the nature of dry ground, carrying traces of time and history - a connection between past and present.
